Enticing Mr. Wrong is in Paperback!

Yay! Bonz and Aisha’s story is finally in Paperback. Though it was a long journey, their book can now be bought and carried around to read at will. Much better than being glued to a computer screen, huh? lol. Certainly more convenient.

Tell me what you think of the cover above. Here's the blurb:

What does an up and coming model/actress have in common with a thug/hustler like Bonz? One dead brother, a lot of unanswered questions, and explosive passion.

Aisha Norwood is on a mission to find out who killed her brother. She will stop at nothing to make that person pay dearly for her loss. If only the prime suspect wasn’t so sexy and just so…so wonderful.

Gregory ‘Bonz’ Forsyth has everything he could ever want. And yet his life is drier than a desert. He needs something…someone to bring the rain. He had no idea that with that special someone a monsoon would come, changing his whole life forever.

Enticing Mr. Wrong (Photos-secondary characters)

This post is to fill in several gaps in Enticing Mr. Wrong for my faithful readers. I realized while I was preparing the final manuscript for print that I went into great detail about how the main characters looked (Bonz and Aisha), but left holes in the story about how some of the secondary characters looked, especially the ones that you will see again in other books. To correct that here without going back to re-edit earlier posts according to the final manuscript, I’ve listed each person and their celebrity look-alikes below. Links to photos are provided as well. Enjoy!

To all: I’m going to format the VRC manuscript this weekend. It will remain in blog posting style with all the different chapter sections that you are familiar with. However, the printed book will be formatted a lot differently. So if you do end up buying the paperback later on, just know that the only thing that changed related to cosmetics. The words are still the same.

Also I’ve decided to leave the comments up because they were such a blessing to me and to others. Therefore, on Monday you will still see various chapters listed under the archives, but the only thing that will be in those links are the comments. The contents of the chapters will be deleted.

Enticing Mr. Wrong - Letter to Readers

As I mentioned in the dedication, though I started writing this book several weeks before one of my first-cousins (Dontavious Wyman) was tragically killed, I decided to dedicate Enticing Mr. Wrong to him for several reasons.

Like Bonz, Dontavious had a lot of goodness in him. He was also very loyal to his relatives and friends. Unfortunately, my cousin was also like Bonz in the fact that he chose the wrong path for his life. That path ended up causing terrible pain and suffering. Of equal misfortune is the fact that my cousin was also betrayed by a close acquaintance.

My only regret is that my cousin didn’t get another chance to start over like Bonz did. Rest in peace, Dontavious ‘Tape’ Wyman.

(Moment of Silence)

* * *

No matter what my original reason for writing Enticing Mr. Wrong was, my ultimate goal now is to bring enlightenment on two levels:

1. That the people we call thugs are more than they appear to be. Some are actually really nice people who simply fail to see other options for their lives right now.

2. That making the right decisions is vital to our lives. Remember quick wealth is not a blessing in the end (Proverbs 20:21 TLB) and dishonest gain will never last, so why take the risk? (Proverbs 21:6 TLB). Too many people have learned these lessons too late. Please don’t be one of them.

Author note (update)

Update: Grandma made it through!!!!!!!

You guys must be some sho’ nuff prayer warriors, because Grandma is back home now and resting comfortably. Though it started out frightening, this episode suddenly and miraculously reversed itself over the last few hours, which we initially feared would be like the massive stroke she had last month.

All I can say is that God knows how to hear and answer pray! I feel like Jarrett did when his grandmother was sick. Praise God forever more!!!

My sister-in-law is taking care of Grandma tonight. Hopefully, other relatives will step in and rotate duties as they should. I was in charge of the childcare today and so I haven’t had a moment to myself from 6:30am this morning to a couple of hours ago. Since my own kids are grown, I was quickly given a refresher course on how exhausting it was to look after toddlers and an inquisitive 8-year-old.

Sheesh! I do NOT miss those days. LOL. Okay, I have to admit, though they wore me OUT and my house was a mess, we had tons of fun. Thank God for my creative mind. I had those kiddies doing all kinds of things.

Although I’m tired and have tons of homework to do that also got pushed aside in the crisis, I’m going to take some time to answer one specific comment.

Marlene said: “…Anyway, I know this is going WAY, WAY back, but in chapter 4, you said this:

"With each snip of the scissors Bonz felt lighter and lighter. Who knew a haircut could make him feel so much better. Now if he could only lighten his soul from its torments…and its guilt concerning not one, but two dead addicts."

What's that about? What two addicts?”

Marlene: The two dead addicts Bonz had guilt about were his mother and Dominic. His mother because he wished he could have saved her. Bonz wished he could have saved Dominic, too, just in a different way. During the London confrontation I mentioned who Bonz wished he’d serviced Aisha’s brother that night because at least Dominic would have gotten purer drugs and could have avoided the rat poison. Hope that answered your question.

To all: I’ll start posting again tomorrow night. By then (hopefully) I would have put a dent in this homework of mine and have gotten my bearings back.

Peace and love. Thanks again for all your prayers.

Just wanted you guys to know that posting will be suspended today due to an unexpected family emergency. A close relative had a stroke early this morning and the family is in crisis mood. Your prayers are welcome.

I'll try to post when I can.

Author Note (Reader's comments)

Below is a reader’s comments about this story. She had to post them on my other blog due to PC restraints. Excuse any errors. Excitement had the girl typing at superhuman speed. Vongai, I tried to clean up a few minor errors and space you out more for easier reading (Hope that was okay).

Hi Suprina!!!!!!
I was away from work for a while and so I have had a lot of catching up to do! First things first, I love the cover of Changing Gene and I especially love the readers review part… did you see me there? Well of course you did!

Now because I came back in the office last week Thursday(27/09) I’ve had some serious catching up to do. and I must say I love Enticing Mr. Wrong but Gene is still my favourite. I‘m also falling in love with Greg! he is so delicious in a crazy way!

Look at it this way, I love a man who is a man, but who knows a good woman when he sees her. He is battling with his chosen career and I like a man who will try to change for his wife-to-be or girl friend. Now why am I sending comments to this blog??? because my old computer(kicking it) won’t let me post a comment to you at your main website.

I’m also sad because I will not get that book because I am Single but don’t worry because I too am waiting for my Boaz (is that Subrina’s one), now that may get confusing- a David of my own (a man after God’s own heart..) so David.

Well Suprina I have read My Lover, My friend, Sheree and Graham’s story, Changing Gene etc and while I’m in love with Gene I say Greg is shaping up in away I love. I love the way you bring in all the emotions, I was about to cry at the cemetery and I’m like hook her up in the club punching Cami because us sisters need to defend ourselves. So you know some people are lurking, I’m one of those. Keep up the good work and I hope you check this site soon because that’s where I’m posting from though I will mail you properly later. Much love, I wish I could post directly so I could talk to Kim, Kassie, Subrina, Marlene etc because I love a bit of suspense and there is nothing like sharpening each other’s detective reasoning…

Vongai Says: October 3rd, 2007 at 2:50 pm

I’m back again that Cami needs to be real! how can you do that to your own flesh and blood? Well I see why you feel no pity for her she is trash! Okay now I’m going to forget about her and just say I love the way you are bringing this story to us. Your characters are very real and I enjoy reading from an inspirational point of view because the characters always have a praying person and that keeps you in line and we all need that in this crazy and tempting world. I love this story because my brother was once into drugs and began acting really crazy selling things etc but he stopped(I hope). This story touches a part of our lives that we would like to hide but cannot. Keep up the good work dear and do not forget to check this blog because I love your work!
