Author note about Ch. 9

The chapter below is one of the reasons I issued a reader advisory at the beginning of this book. In short, Chapter 9 may offend some. Others may simply recognize this depiction as one of many realities that occurred between slaves and their masters. Ultimately, I hope you all will find that I tried to handle this particular part of the book tastefully and tactfully.
