Miss Opportunity - Ch. 38.3

On the southwest part of town, Daysha settled into her bed after just having a long conversation with Millsap’s mother. Bonnie called Daysha out of the blue to ‘check on her’ and to thank her once again for helping restore her mobility.

During the course of the conversation, Bonnie casually mentioned her son and her distaste for the new woman in his life. Of course that piqued Daysha’s interest. She promptly wanted to know why Bonnie found Cami so distasteful. Certainly distasteful enough for Mrs. Monroe to do something that she’d never done before – discuss one of Millsap’s lovers with Daysha.

In her reply to the nurse’s inquiry, Bonnie revealed a few cracks in Cami’s armor.

1. Cami could be very materialistic at times.

2. Cami wasn’t as good a mother as Daysha. Didn’t even have custody of her son.

3. Cami spent time in prison…for narcotics of all things!

After hearing those things, Daysha deduced that Cami must be exceptional in bed. Why else would Millsap be so enthralled by her? Why else would he openly date someone so beneath him?

I think it’s time for me to learn a few new tricks, Daysha thought, moving to pull her laptop out from under her bed. I am not going to lose another good man due to sexual ignorance, she mused, recalling how she lost her ex-husband to a more superior lover.

As a result of those painful memories, Daysha spent the next three hours surfing various websites, including those in the adult entertainment industry. This was not the first time she’d done this kind of research. It was what helped Daysha gain the position of favorite with Millsap before. It was what she would use to be his favorite again. Correction, his one and only since it was now obvious that Millsap was capable of settling down with just one woman.
