Pursuing Mrs. Regrets - Ch. 18.1

Royal must have reviewed Delia’s text message a hundred times that day. Not for self-torment, but in search for hidden truths. He’d found several by the time he commuted home.

‘After much thought, I have decided to discontinue our relationship altogether’- This wasn’t a hasty decision on Delia’s part. Meaning, she’d obviously weighed the pros and cons of being with him before coming to a resolution.

‘A woman with my past could ruin the career of an up and coming doctor like yourself.’ - This was one of those consequences Delia had weighed and used to come to her decision.

Royal was not so vain as to think that that was the only consequence Delia hoped to avoid with him. After all, he had a pretty high profile in town, regularly featured in the local newspapers for some new accomplishment he’d done or because of some social event he attended. No doubt Delia was also thinking about what that kind of media attention would create for her family if she was spotted around town with one of the city’s most eligible bachelors.

‘I’ve grown to care too much for you to ever hurt you that way.’ – Delia had strong feelings for him. Feelings so strong that she was willing to sacrifice something that brought her extreme pleasure in order to keep from hurting innocent people.

“Sounds like love to me,” Royal deduced aloud, convinced that Delia felt the same way about him as he did her. Yet he had to know for sure before putting everything on the line.

I’ll find out tomorrow, Royal mused, turning into his driveway. For now, he needed to make a long overdue call to a certain relative in Enfield.

To all: Sorry for the short post. Busy weekend (Easter, Anniversary). Plus, I had to do a lot of revamping tonight (the story is changing so much, new chapters, even new characters), which leads to a lot more editing. I'll post more Monday night.

I'm curious: How do y'all think Royal is going to find out if Delia loves him or not tomorrow?

Paula: You're so close. lol. And yet so far away. lol. Stay tuned and you'll see.

As for me having a wonderful weekend...Yelp! This was one of the best anniversaries I've had in years and we didn't even go anywhere this time. Our honeymoon, lol, I mean, anniversary was spent at the house. lol.

Be back in the next hour or so.

I believe he can do it without enlisting someone else's help but it would be an underhanded way to go and I don't think he should do that. So Suprina I'm stumped can't wait to see how he figures it out.

Carmel Beauty: You're so close,

Something for us all to remember is that Royal is a brilliant man. A certified genius in fact, which means he is capable of thinking of vast ways to get his goals accomplished.

Only thing is, his mind ain't smarter than God's. Which means whatever he thinks of is only going to take him so far. Brotha man has to learn that he needs God more than he thinks he does (spoiler).

I'll try to post a couple more times over the next few hours.

Sharon: I got no flowers, but I did get a home cooked meal with all the fixings and lots of TLC. Felt like a queen that day.
